An A110 kept for weekend drives can sit for a week or more between outings. Its alarm, immobiliser and control units keep drawing a small current, and in a hot garage or open car park that is enough to leave a modest battery unable to crank. Owners who store the car for the summer should use a maintainer or disconnect as the handbook advises.

The A110 was engineered to be light, and its battery was chosen with that in mind. A bigger, heavier unit that happens to fit the terminals is not an upgrade. We match the capacity and type on the existing label, so the charging system and battery monitoring see what they were designed for.
The A310, GTA and A610 are decades old, and on these cars a flat battery can hide a charging fault, a corroded earth or an ageing alternator. The technician checks the charging voltage after fitting, because a new battery on a car that is not charging will simply go flat again.
