Many recent Fords have a battery monitoring sensor on the negative terminal that tells the charging system how the battery is doing. After a new battery goes in, the system may need to be reset or allowed time to relearn, otherwise it can undercharge the new unit. That reset is dealer or scan-tool work; the technician will tell you if your model is one that benefits from it.

F-250 and F-350 pickups with the Power Stroke diesel use two batteries wired together to turn over a large diesel engine. Both age together, and replacing just one leaves the new battery working against a weak partner. We recommend replacing them as a pair and bring two matched units when you book a diesel Super Duty.
A Mustang that only comes out on Fridays spends most of the week slowly draining its battery through the alarm and control modules. In summer that drain combines with cabin heat to shorten battery life noticeably. A trickle charger in the garage, or a short drive midweek, keeps the battery healthier than leaving it to sit for a fortnight.
