From our verified fitment data, an A6 45 TFSI uses an 80Ah AGM and the 55 TFSI a 90Ah, a Q5 40 or 45 TFSI takes 80Ah and the SQ5 90Ah, and the Q7 steps up to 95Ah or 105Ah for the SQ7. Fitting the smaller unit because it happens to fit the tray leaves the car short of reserve on hot days.

On the A6, A7 and A8 the battery lives under the boot floor next to the spare wheel well, and several larger models also keep it away from the engine bay. Under the bonnet there is only a jump-start terminal. The technician needs the boot emptied, so clearing shopping bags or golf clubs beforehand saves time.
Audi's energy management tracks the battery's age and adjusts charging accordingly, and it expects a new battery to be registered in the car. Without that step the system may keep charging the new battery as though it were old. We fit the correct AGM specification; registration is carried out with diagnostic equipment by a dealer or specialist, and we will tell you if your model needs it.
