Kaiyi Xuandu EV battery replacement

Electric version of the Xuandu; we replace only its 12V auxiliary battery.

The Xuandu EV runs on electric drive, yet it keeps a conventional 12V battery for the locks, the lighting and the control units that start the system. A failing 12V battery can leave the car silent despite a charged pack. We replace the 12V unit only; anything to do with the drive battery stays with the importer.

Choosing the battery for a Xuandu EV

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

The old battery is tested before removal and the charging system is checked after fitting. If the car needs a battery-management reset or registration, the technician explains the requirement for that version before the work is closed.

Kaiyi began as a venture between Chery and partners in Yibin, Sichuan, and is now based there, building budget-priced crossovers and saloons that often use Chery-derived engines. Its export push has taken models such as the X3 Pro, Showjet and X7 Kunlun into new markets, and a few now reach the UAE through regional importers.
