KGM is the name SsangYong has carried since KG Group took over the company in 2023, so a new Torres and an older Rexton come from the same Korean maker. The line-up is almost entirely SUVs and pickups, several of them built on a separate ladder chassis for towing and rough ground. That tells you most of what you need about their batteries: sized for real work, and worth matching exactly rather than guessing.

Some KGM owners find a SsangYong label on their battery or in the manual. That is normal; the rename changed the badge, not the engineering. What decides the replacement is the engine and model year, so a photo of the current battery top, showing capacity, size code and terminal side, is the fastest way for the technician to confirm the match.
Rexton and the Musso Grand pickup are body-on-frame vehicles built to tow and to cope with sand and rough tracks. Owners often add light bars, fridges or winches, and all of that leans on the battery. A replacement with lower capacity than the original may crank fine in the car park but struggle after a day of towing in summer heat, so keep to the factory rating or above.
The electric Torres EVX carries a conventional 12V auxiliary battery that wakes the car's control units before the drive system engages. If that small battery fails, the car can refuse to power up even with plenty of range showing. We test and replace the 12V unit; the traction battery is dealer territory.
