Lancia Thema battery replacement

The 2011 to 2014 car is a Chrysler 300 underneath, with the battery in the boot.

The later Thema is a Chrysler 300 and the Voyager a Chrysler minivan, sold with Lancia badges in continental Europe. They take American-pattern batteries rather than the European sizes of Italian-built Lancias. On the Thema, as on the Chrysler 300, the battery sits in the boot under the floor, which surprises owners looking under the bonnet. Choosing the battery for a Thema

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

The old battery is tested before removal and the charging system is checked after fitting. If the car needs a battery-management reset or registration, the technician explains the requirement for that version before the work is closed.

About Lancia batteries

Lancia has not been sold new in the UAE for many years, so the Lancias here are imports and enthusiasts' cars: a Delta HF Integrale kept for weekends, a Fulvia coupe, an Ypsilon brought from Italy. Between 2011 and 2015 the brand also sold rebadged Chryslers in Europe, which means a Lancia Thema or Voyager takes a very different battery from a Lancia Delta.
