Ravon was the badge GM Uzbekistan used between 2015 and 2020 for cars that began life as Chevrolets. The Gentra is a descendant of the Lacetti, the Nexia R3 is related to the Aveo sedan, the R4 to the Cobalt, and the R2 to the Spark. They are rare in the UAE and usually arrive with owners from Central Asia, but their simple petrol engines and conventional electrics make the battery one of the easier parts to source.

Because each Ravon shares its engine bay with a Chevrolet model that was sold widely, the battery tray, terminals and hold-down usually suit common sizes. None of the range uses start-stop or battery registration. A standard maintenance-free flooded battery of the right capacity is normally all that is needed, but check the label on the fitted one to confirm.
The R2 and the old Matiz carry compact batteries with limited reserve. In an Abu Dhabi summer that reserve disappears quickly if the car sits outside with a dashcam or alarm connected. When a small Ravon cranks slowly after a hot afternoon, the battery has usually reached the end of its life rather than the starter.
