Choosing the battery for a Terralord

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

The old battery is tested before removal and the charging system is checked after fitting. If the car needs a battery-management reset or registration, the technician explains the requirement for that version before the work is closed.

ZX Auto, full name Hebei Zhongxing Automobile, is a Hebei-province maker of pickups and body-on-frame SUVs. Its best-known nameplate is the GrandTiger pickup, built for many years alongside the later Terralord and the newer Grand Lion models, with the Landmark and Admiral SUVs from its earlier range. In the UAE these trucks are uncommon, and the ones we meet are often kitted out for camping or desert driving, which changes what the electrical system is asked to do.
