Aiways U5 battery replacement

Mid-size electric SUV and the brand's first model; the Aiways most likely to be found here as a European import.

Many UAE residents leave for several weeks in July and August, and an electric car left in a hot garage or open car park keeps drawing a little current the whole time. Once the 12V battery in a U5 or U6 is completely flat, the car can no longer be unlocked normally or woken up, and the owner returns to a dark car. Choosing the battery for a U5

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

The old battery is tested before removal and the charging system is checked after fitting. If the car needs a battery-management reset or registration, the technician explains the requirement for that version before the work is closed.

About Aiways batteries

Aiways is a Shanghai electric-car start-up whose U5 SUV became, in 2020, one of the first Chinese EVs sold across much of Europe, followed later by the coupe-styled U6. The few in the UAE are mostly European-specification cars brought over by owners or traders. The brand has since scaled back its operations abroad, so routine help with the 12V auxiliary battery now tends to come from independent services such as ours.
