Aiways is a Shanghai electric-car start-up whose U5 SUV became, in 2020, one of the first Chinese EVs sold across much of Europe, followed later by the coupe-styled U6. The few in the UAE are mostly European-specification cars brought over by owners or traders. The brand has since scaled back its operations abroad, so routine help with the 12V auxiliary battery now tends to come from independent services such as ours.

Many UAE residents leave for several weeks in July and August, and an electric car left in a hot garage or open car park keeps drawing a little current the whole time. Once the 12V battery in a U5 or U6 is completely flat, the car can no longer be unlocked normally or woken up, and the owner returns to a dark car. A quick test before you fly costs far less than a recovery when you land.
European-market cars were specified with European temperatures and battery standards in mind. The 12V battery fitted at the factory suits that use, but in UAE heat it ages faster than the handbook's service intervals suggest. If a low-voltage message appears on the dashboard, treat it as an early warning and book a check before the car stops responding.
On an Aiways we look after the 12V auxiliary battery only. Faults in the traction battery, charging port or motors belong with an electric-vehicle specialist, and with the brand's own network thinner than it was, finding one may take some searching.
