A large share of its output went to Chinese taxi and ride-hailing fleets. In the UAE these cars are rare private imports. Like every EV they rely on a small 12V battery to wake the car and close the main contactors, and that is the part we look after.

Many EU-series sedans were built for taxi and ride-hailing duty, where cars run long shifts with the cabin cooled and the 12V side feeding lights, screens and fans throughout. If you are unsure of an imported car's history, assume the auxiliary battery has worked hard and have it tested soon after purchase rather than waiting for the car to refuse to start.
An electric car has no starter motor, but it still needs 12V power before the high-voltage pack can connect. When the small battery sags, doors may not unlock, the screen stays dark or the car will not select drive, even with a well-charged main pack. We test and replace that auxiliary unit on site and leave the traction battery to specialists.
Chinese-market EVs do not always use the battery sizes common on UAE shelves, and the unit may sit under a trim cover that has to come off first. Tell us where you found it, or share a picture of the markings on its case, and we will confirm a suitable replacement before driving out. If nothing we carry fits properly, we will say so.
