An early TXL that has lived through five or six UAE summers is usually on at least its second battery, and a previous owner or roadside shop may have fitted whatever was in stock that day. Choosing the battery for a TXL

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

The old battery is tested before removal and the charging system is checked after fitting. If the car needs a battery-management reset or registration, the technician explains the requirement for that version before the work is closed.

Exeed started out as a Chery-branded premium line, and many early TXL SUVs were sold and registered as the Chery Exeed, a combined name that still turns up on registration cards, import papers and parts listings.
