Ciimo is a brand created by Dongfeng Honda, the Wuhan joint venture that builds Hondas for China. It first appeared in 2012 with a petrol saloon closely related to the Honda Civic of the time, then returned as an electric label with the X-NV and M-NV, battery-electric crossovers developed from Honda's small SUV, sold in China as the XR-V and elsewhere as the HR-V. We are not aware of either generation being sold officially in the UAE, so any Ciimo here is a private import.

Because the X-NV and M-NV look so much like the familiar HR-V, owners and mechanics sometimes reach for an HR-V battery. That is the wrong starting point. In the electric versions the 12V battery does not crank an engine; it wakes the electronics and connects the drive pack, and its specification follows the EV rather than the petrol car. We match it from the unit fitted.

Ciimo saloons were built between 2012 and 2015, so any survivor is at least a decade old, and its wiring may have been altered by previous owners. It uses a normal starter battery, and a slow or uneven crank on hot mornings is the familiar warning. We check the charging voltage too, since a tired alternator can finish off a new battery within months.
A Ciimo draws on both Honda and Dongfeng supply chains, which helps with some parts and muddles others. For batteries the reliable route is simple: read the specification from the one in the car, confirm the model and year, and bring a like-for-like replacement. High-voltage work on the electric versions stays with a qualified EV workshop.
