Daewoo was a South Korean conglomerate whose car division collapsed around 1999 and was taken over by General Motors in 2002. Many of its designs lived on as Chevrolets, including the Lacetti, Kalos and Matiz, while the Nexia and Gentra continued in Uzbekistan. Any Daewoo still running in the UAE is now an older car, and for those the battery is only half the story: the wiring and charging system need checking too.

A Daewoo Lacetti, Kalos, Matiz or Epica has a close Chevrolet relative of the same era, and the two generally use the same battery tray and size. That helps when the owner's manual is long gone. The label on the fitted battery remains the best reference, because older cars have often had a replacement of the wrong size along the way.

After fifteen or twenty years, alternators weaken, earth straps corrode and terminal clamps crack. Any of these can flatten a new battery within weeks and make it look faulty. After fitting, the technician measures charging voltage and inspects the clamps and cables, so we fix the cause rather than sell you a second battery.
The Korando and Musso four-wheel drives sold under the Daewoo name were SsangYong designs, some with Mercedes-derived diesel engines. Diesels need more cranking current than the small petrol Daewoos, so these take a larger, stronger battery. Send the engine type when booking.
