In the UAE its best-known vehicles are the Terios compact 4x4, the Gran Max van and pickup used by small businesses, and the Sirion hatchback, while the Xenia and Rocky come from its Indonesian range. Several of them are sold elsewhere as Toyotas, which helps when matching a battery.

The Terios has been sold as the Toyota Rush, the Xenia as the Avanza, and the Gran Max as a Toyota light commercial in some markets. The twins generally share battery trays and Japanese-standard battery sizes, which are narrower than many European batteries. Fitting a wider unit that does not sit properly in the tray is a common mistake we avoid by checking the fitted label.

Gran Max vans and pickups often run all day on short delivery hops, started and stopped dozens of times with the air conditioning working hard. Models such as the Mira, Move, Tanto and Copen are Japanese-market kei cars that reach the UAE only as private imports. Their batteries are among the smallest in any car, and some later versions with idle-stop use a specific enhanced type.
