Choosing the battery for a Leo

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

The old battery is tested before removal and the charging system is checked after fitting. If the car needs a battery-management reset or registration, the technician explains the requirement for that version before the work is closed.

About Elaris batteries

Elaris is a German company that sells electric cars built by Chinese manufacturers under its own badge, adapting them for European buyers. Models such as the Leo, Beo, Finn and Pio began life at different factories, so two Elaris cars may have little in common underneath. Any in the UAE will be private imports, most likely from Europe. Like every EV, each one has a 12V battery that must be healthy before the car will switch on at all.
