Choosing the battery for a Freemont

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

About GAC Fiat batteries

GAC Fiat was a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Group and Fiat, set up to build cars for China, and its short range is now an orphan. The Viaggio saloon and Ottimo hatchback were designed for Chinese buyers on a platform shared with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, and the Freemont sold alongside them was a Fiat-badged Dodge Journey. The venture later turned to building Jeeps, so there is no GAC Fiat dealer to call.
