GAC Fiat was a joint venture between Guangzhou Automobile Group and Fiat, set up to build cars for China, and its short range is now an orphan. The Viaggio saloon and Ottimo hatchback were designed for Chinese buyers on a platform shared with the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, and the Freemont sold alongside them was a Fiat-badged Dodge Journey. The venture later turned to building Jeeps, so there is no GAC Fiat dealer to call. For a battery that matters less than you might think, because it can be matched by measurement rather than part number.

Without a dealer, owners can struggle to find body panels or software support, but a battery is chosen by its dimensions, capacity and terminal layout rather than a brand-specific code. The unit already in the car shows all three. We bring an equivalent that meets or exceeds the original rating and sits securely in the tray under its hold-down.
Mechanically the Freemont is a Dodge Journey, a seven-seat SUV that was sold in the Gulf under the Dodge badge. That makes it the easiest of these cars to support, since Journey battery sizes are familiar to UAE suppliers. Versions with the larger engine or rear climate control work their battery harder in summer, so keep to the original capacity.
The Viaggio and Ottimo were offered with small petrol engines, including a turbocharged option, packed into a compact engine bay that holds heat long after a drive. In the UAE that heat, not the mileage, is what usually finishes the battery. Once the battery reaches its second summer, a quick test before the hot months is far less trouble than a flat car in a mall car park.
