On the 2011 to 2021 Grand Cherokee, the main battery sits beneath the front passenger seat, not under the bonnet; the posts in the engine bay are only for jump-starting. Choosing the battery for a Grand Cherokee

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.
