Many recent Wranglers equipped with engine stop-start have a small auxiliary battery alongside the main one. It supports the electrics while the engine restarts, and when it fails the dashboard may report that stop-start is unavailable or show a battery warning, even though the main battery starts the car normally. Choosing the battery for a Wrangler

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

The old battery is tested before removal and the charging system is checked after fitting. If the car needs a battery-management reset or registration, the technician explains the requirement for that version before the work is closed.
