Under Geely ownership the brand has added the Eletre SUV and Emeya saloon, both fully electric. So a Lotus battery job can mean a compact starter battery squeezed into a sports car or the 12V battery on a high-tech EV.

Lotus sports cars use compact batteries sized for their engines and their weight targets, and the battery tray leaves little room for anything larger. Some owners fit lightweight lithium batteries for track use. Before we come out, check the label or send a photo: the replacement must match the case, terminal position and chemistry the car is set up for, not simply the biggest battery that squeezes in.
In the UAE an Elise or Exige is rarely a daily driver. It waits in a garage between early-morning drives, and alarms and immobilisers slowly drain the small battery. In summer the rear-engine bay also runs very hot after a drive. A battery maintainer between outings and a quick test before the cooler season starts save most call-outs.
The electric Eletre SUV and Emeya GT use a large high-voltage pack for driving and a separate 12V battery for waking the car's systems. When that 12V battery fails the car may not unlock or power up, despite a full charge. We test and replace the 12V battery only.

Usually not. The tray and hold-down are designed for a compact battery, and a larger one may not fit or be secured safely. We match the original size and type.
We supply conventional batteries. If your car has a lithium unit fitted, the technician will tell you and advise on the options rather than swapping in the wrong type.
