A diesel engine needs more current to turn over than a petrol engine of similar size, and many Mahindras are diesel. On a Scorpio, Thar or Pik Up the battery has to be sized for that effort, plus whatever lights or accessories the owner has added. A lower-capacity battery bought on price often manages for a few weeks, then fails on the first hot morning after the car has sat.
The Pik Up and Bolero pickups do hard, repetitive work: loading at sites, short hops, engines left idling for the air conditioning while drivers wait. That wears batteries faster than steady highway driving. Clean terminals and a secure clamp matter too, because site dust and vibration loosen connections over time.
The BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs use a 12V battery to boot their systems before the high-voltage pack takes over. If the screens stay dark and the car will not start despite charge, test the 12V battery first. That is the only battery we replace on an EV.
