McLaren recommends keeping its cars on a battery conditioner when they are not being driven, and in UAE conditions that advice matters even more. A 570S or 720S left unplugged for a couple of weeks can drop below the voltage needed to start, and repeated deep discharges permanently reduce capacity. If your garage has no socket near the car, a regular drive of at least half an hour is the next best thing.

Door and luggage-compartment releases on many McLarens are electrically operated. With a completely flat battery, simply getting into the car or reaching the battery can take more than pressing a button. Tell us when booking if the car will not unlock, so the technician arrives prepared rather than discovering the problem on site.
Some lightweight versions left the factory with a lithium starter battery, and the car's charging is set up for it. We fit AGM batteries, so check the label first; we will not install the wrong chemistry. The Artura, P1 and Speedtail are hybrids that still need a healthy 12V battery to wake. We work on the 12V side only.
