Side terminals and the right bolts
Many GM cars from the 1970s onward use batteries with threaded terminals on the side of the case rather than posts on top. The replacement must have the same layout, or the cables will not reach. The terminal bolts matter too: a bolt that is too long can bottom out and crack the battery case. The technician checks the terminal type before bringing a battery and uses the correct bolts when fitting.
