Nearly every recent Peugeot car switches its engine off in traffic, and the battery then carries the cabin until the restart. That is why these cars leave the factory with EFB or AGM batteries, commonly in European L-series case sizes. A flooded replacement tends to disable Stop and Start within weeks and fail early in summer. Check the label and match both type and case size.
Peugeot's central body computer manages lights, locks, windows and many comfort functions, and a weak battery can make it behave erratically: warning messages, windows losing their one-touch function, or the clock resetting. After a battery change, one-touch windows sometimes need re-teaching by running each fully up and down. The technician lets the car's systems go to sleep before disconnecting to avoid unnecessary faults.
Partner, Expert and Boxer vans and the Landtrek pickup do repetitive, heavy work with frequent restarts and long idling. Their batteries face a harder life than a family car's, and diesel engines add cranking load. A heavy-duty unit at the original capacity or above is the sensible choice for fleet vehicles.
