Choosing the battery for a G5

We start with the build year and engine, then read the fitted battery label. The technician checks battery technology, amp-hour rating, case dimensions, hold-down and terminal side. A battery with the right voltage but the wrong case or terminal layout is not a sound fit.

The old battery is tested before removal and the charging system is checked after fitting. If the car needs a battery-management reset or registration, the technician explains the requirement for that version before the work is closed.

About Riich batteries

Riich was Chery's first attempt at an upmarket brand, sold in China from about 2009 until the early 2010s, when the label was wound down. Its line-up included the G5 and G6 saloons and the small M1 hatchback. Very few reached the UAE, and those that did are now well over a decade old, usually kept going by owners who value them for what they are. For a battery job that means careful matching, a look at old electrics and no assumptions borrowed from newer Cherys.
