From the battery guide
Older Fabia, Rapid and early Octavia models generally run a conventional battery. From the third-generation Octavia onwards, many Skodas gained start-stop and energy recovery, which require EFB or AGM. The Superb and Kodiaq with larger engines and more equipment usually sit near the top of the range. The original label is the reliable guide.
Skodas with battery monitoring store details of the fitted battery and tailor charging accordingly. On many recent models, a new battery should be adapted in the car's settings with diagnostic equipment. We fit a battery that matches the original specification and tell you if that adaptation is recommended; we do not perform the coding ourselves.
Octavias and Superbs working as taxis or company cars cover big distances with the air conditioning running flat out. Batteries in that service age quicker than in private cars. A quick test at each service interval is cheaper than a breakdown with a passenger on board.
