VinFast is Vietnam's first large-scale car maker, part of the Vingroup conglomerate. Its first cars were petrol models developed with licensed engineering: the Lux A2.0 sedan and Lux SA2.0 SUV used BMW-derived platforms and engines, and the Fadil city car came from a GM design. Since 2022 VinFast has switched to electric SUVs, from the small VF 3 to the seven-seat VF 9. Both generations need a healthy 12V battery, but for different reasons.

The Lux A2.0 and SA2.0 share much of their engineering with BMW models of the previous decade, including an electronics-heavy design that is sensitive to low voltage. Many such cars use an AGM battery, and some expect a new battery to be registered. Check the label on the fitted unit; we supply the matching type and tell you if registration is advised.

The VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, VF 9 and VF e34 use a 12V auxiliary battery to run their computers and connect the high-voltage pack. When it weakens, the car may lock its owner out or refuse to start. We replace the 12V battery on site; the drive battery belongs with the manufacturer.
VinFast models are still new to Gulf roads, and specifications can differ by market and build. Rather than guess, we ask for a photo of the current 12V battery label so the technician brings the correct size and terminal layout.
