They were inexpensive when new and are now mostly past their first battery, often past their second. Our work on them is straightforward, but because parts information is scarce outside China, we rely on the vehicle itself, the tray, the terminals and the battery already fitted, rather than on a published specification.

The battery ends up supporting the system in traffic. If the blower slows noticeably or the headlights dim at junctions, the battery or charging circuit is already under strain and worth testing.

A slightly higher capacity in the same case size is usually fine if it sits securely in the tray and the terminals line up. We will not fit one that overhangs the tray or needs the cables stretched.
