The VV5, VV6 and VV7 use turbocharged petrol engines and conventional 12V systems, with generous equipment for their class. A battery matching the original size and cold-cranking rating keeps them starting reliably. Check the label for signs of start-stop, which would call for an enhanced battery.
The Mocca, Latte, Macchiato and Coffee 01 use hybrid systems with high-voltage batteries, but they still need a 12V battery to wake up and close the circuit to the drive battery. A flat 12V battery can leave the car unresponsive. We replace the 12V battery; high-voltage components remain dealer work.
