Chery is based in Wuhu and has been China's largest car exporter for years, so its Tiggo SUVs and Arrizo saloons are now familiar in the UAE. The range runs from the small Tiggo 2 Pro to the seven-seat Tiggo 8 Pro, with turbocharged petrol engines across most of it and newer C-DM plug-in hybrids joining. Older Cherys such as the first Tiggo and the QQ are still around too, and they need a different approach.

Recent Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro models come with dual screens, surround cameras, powered tailgates and connected services, and many of these modules stay alert after the car is locked. That standby drain, added to summer parking in open car parks, is often what finishes a battery rather than cranking alone. A load test on site shows whether the battery has lost capacity.

Plug-in hybrid versions such as the Tiggo 7 C-DM and Tiggo 8 Plus C-DM carry a high-voltage battery for the electric drive and a conventional 12V battery for the electronics. If the 12V unit fails, the car may not reach Ready mode. We replace that 12V battery only and leave the hybrid system to the dealer.
A 2010-era Tiggo or Arrizo 7 that has passed through several owners may have had batteries of different sizes fitted along the way, and its charging system may be tired. The technician confirms the tray size and checks alternator output after fitting, so a weak charging system is not mistaken for a bad battery.
