The H6 HEV and Jolion HEV run a high-voltage hybrid battery for their electric drive, yet the car still needs a conventional 12V battery to wake its computers and engage the hybrid system. A tired 12V battery can leave a hybrid Haval showing a dark dash or refusing to go into ready mode. That 12V battery is what we test and replace on site.
The H9 is a genuine body-on-frame four-wheel drive with low range, and owners use it that way on dune trips and wadi drives. Long days of low-speed crawling with fans, lights and fridges running place a heavy load on the battery. Before a desert trip, a quick test is worthwhile; a weak battery is far easier to replace in the car park than halfway up a dune.
With so many H6s and Jolions on the road, battery failures follow a familiar pattern: the original battery fades around the second or third summer, often first showing as a hesitant start after the car has stood through a hot afternoon. If your Haval is at that age and the crank sounds slower than it did, test before it fails outright.
