The QX80 and the earlier QX56 share their platform and V8 engines with the Nissan Patrol, and they carry similar electrical loads, from rear-seat entertainment to three-zone climate and power-folding seats. They use a large, high-capacity battery. On a desert weekend or a long wait with the engine idling, a battery one size too small is the first thing to fail.
Q50 and Q60 owners often keep a second car for weekdays, leaving the Infiniti parked for several days at a time. Keyless entry, telematics and the alarm continue to draw power, and heat accelerates the loss. If the car starts sluggishly after a few days' rest, the battery is losing reserve and is worth testing before it fails completely.
Many first-generation QX56 and FX35 or FX45 models still run in the UAE, well past fifteen years old. On these, a weak start may come from corroded terminals, a tired alternator or a failing starter rather than the battery itself. The technician checks charging voltage and connections as part of the visit, so a new battery is fitted only when it will actually solve the problem.
