On several Genesis saloons the battery sits under the boot floor, with jump-start terminals under the bonnet. Owners who open the bonnet expecting to find it are often surprised. The technician will check the location for your model and year before arriving, so allow access to the boot and clear any luggage from the floor panel.
Genesis models draw considerable current even when parked, as keyless entry, telematics and security systems stay alert. AGM batteries handle deep cycling and heat better than basic flooded units. Replacing an AGM with a cheaper conventional battery may start the car today, but it typically fails early and can trigger electrical warnings along the way.
The GV60 and the electrified versions of the G80 and GV70 drive on high-voltage batteries but depend on a separate 12V battery to wake the car and connect that pack. When the 12V unit fails, the car may not unlock or power up at all. We replace the 12V battery; high-voltage components remain the dealer's responsibility.
