Isuzu's light trucks are built for markets with different electrical standards, and some NPR and related models run a 24V system using two 12V batteries in series, while others use 12V. The two setups need different batteries and wiring. A photo of the battery compartment tells us which you have and whether one or two batteries are fitted.

A D-MAX on a construction or maintenance contract may idle for long spells so the cab stays cool, then shut off and restart at the next job. Diesel engines ask more of the battery on each start than a petrol engine does. After two or three summers of that pattern, a slow first crank in the morning is the sign that the battery is near the end.
Companies often run several D-MAX pickups or NPR trucks bought at the same time, and their batteries tend to age together. When one fails, the rest are usually not far behind. Testing the whole fleet in one visit and replacing the weakest batteries together is cheaper than recovering trucks one by one from job sites.
