Lynk & Co was created by Geely in 2016 and shares much of its engineering with Volvo, which is also part of the Geely group. The 01 SUV and 03 saloon sit on the same compact architecture as the Volvo XC40, and the larger 09 is related to Volvo's bigger SUVs. That Scandinavian-Chinese mix shows in the electrical systems: start-stop, battery monitoring and many plug-in hybrid versions. Battery choice needs to follow the version, not just the number on the tailgate.

The same model number can be a petrol car with start-stop, a hybrid, or a plug-in hybrid. The petrol versions use an AGM battery that must be matched in type and capacity. The hybrids and plug-ins have a 12V battery that powers up the car before the drive system engages. Tell us which version you have, or send a photo of the battery label, and the technician brings the right unit.
Because of the shared architecture, many Lynk & Co models monitor battery condition closely and adjust charging to suit. After a replacement, some models expect the new battery to be registered. We fit the correct battery; any registration is done with dealer diagnostic tools. A flooded battery in place of AGM will usually be flagged by the car and fail early.
Lynk & Co cars are heavily connected, with app access, remote climate and over-the-air updates. Those services wake the car periodically even when parked, and in summer that quiet drain adds up. If your car sits outdoors for long periods, a weak 12V battery often shows first as the app failing to reach the car.
