Perodua is Malaysia's biggest-selling carmaker, and its cars are built with close help from Daihatsu, the Toyota-owned small-car specialist. The Myvi, Axia and Bezza are light, economical city cars; the Aruz and Alza share their underpinnings with Toyota and Daihatsu models sold elsewhere. Perodua is not sold new in the UAE, so the ones here are usually personal imports, but their Japanese engineering makes batteries easy to source once the size is known.

Perodua models generally use compact Japanese-pattern batteries, the kind coded by size and terminal side such as NS40 or NS60 families. A small engine bay leaves no room for a larger European battery, and terminal orientation must match or the cables will not reach. The code printed on the current battery gives the technician everything needed to bring the right replacement.

Some Axia, Bezza and Myvi versions have Eco Idle, Perodua's engine start-stop, which asks more of the battery than a plain setup and may need a start-stop-rated type. Even without it, a small battery gives little margin in a UAE summer. If your Perodua starts sluggishly after sitting in the sun, have the battery tested before it fails completely.
