Seres is a Chinese electric-vehicle maker from Chongqing, known internationally for the SUVs it builds with Huawei technology under the AITO name; export markets see several of them badged Seres. Whether the car is a pure EV or a range-extender, the high-voltage pack stays disconnected until the 12V system powers the control units and closes the contactors. A weak 12V battery can therefore leave a fully charged Seres unable to start. We test and replace the 12V battery; the traction pack and generator are for the brand's service network.
Seres cabins are built around large screens, connected services and remote apps, and parts of that system stay active when the car is locked. In summer, cabin overheat protection and battery cooling can add to the load. Owners who leave the car for a long trip should expect the 12V battery to be the first thing to suffer.
