The Navigator is the model most people here know, a full-size SUV with a thirsty electrical system, but the Town Car limousine, the MKZ and the newer Aviator and Nautilus all turn up regularly. Current models use AGM batteries.

Recent Navigator, Aviator, Nautilus and Corsair models shut the engine off at lights, and the AGM battery keeps the cabin cool and the screens alive while it is off. A conventional flooded replacement will not survive that duty for long. Many Lincolns also have a battery monitoring sensor on the negative terminal; after a new battery goes in, that sensor should be reset so charging suits the new unit, which is a job for proper diagnostic equipment.
The long, rear-drive Town Car was a favourite of limousine and hotel fleets across the Gulf, and plenty still run. These cars spend hours idling with the air conditioning on, which is hard on any battery. Match the American group size exactly, keep the terminals clean, and test the battery at every service rather than waiting for a no-start outside a hotel lobby.
The MKZ Hybrid and the plug-in Aviator Grand Touring and Corsair Grand Touring have a 12V battery that powers up the car before the hybrid system takes over. If it fails, the car will not start however much charge the drive battery holds. We replace the 12V battery only.

Recent Navigators need an AGM battery in the correct American group size because of start-stop and heavy electrical demand. Send the model year and the technician brings the right unit.
Many models have a battery monitoring sensor that should be reset with diagnostic equipment so the charging system recognises the new battery. We fit the battery; the reset is best done by the dealer or a Ford-capable workshop.
